5 ways to get through the next 5 months

It's official: we are now entering a new phase of restrictions in the UK.

We have been here before and somehow we have managed to get to the other side, but although so far the new measures in place are not as restricting as a full lockdown, we are facing colder, shorter days and the ways to keep "sane" may no longer include extended outdoor exercising or long self-distanced picnics in sunny parks.

So make sure you have plenty of tools and ways at hand to feel supported, included and entertained.

Here are our top picks:

1. Yoga with Adriene:

Rule #1 in the Mye PA Club is sometimes we should forget about rules! Relax, replenish, respect those moments of pure free flow.

Just like our favourite yogi Adriene does and has been doing for yeeeeeears.

The best way to make sure we make it through winter is picking up a habit that is purely focused on kicking back and breath new life into us when we're feeling a bit "meh", or help us spread energy around by enhancing our positivity.

It's free (although make sure you subscribe to the channel and maybe support with some cool merchandise), it's there WHEN and IF you feel like it, and it's hilarious when Benji does what he does best: unexpectedly appearing into shot and literally sitting on Adriene while she's folded in half or balancing into one of her positions! (PS: Benji is her dog!!)

2. Future Learn:

There is nothing more fulfilling than the feeling you are not wasting time. Breaks and self pampering are absolutely needed but since we are going to be indoors for the majority of time over the coming months, unless you have a stable job that allows you to work remotely, if you are one of the many freelancers, furloughed or "housewifed" why not use that extra time to further our education and knowledge.

Future Learn offers a huge variety of online courses that will either improve your professional skills or why not? inspire you to finally learn about something you have always wanted to explore but never really got around to...like Astronomy! Many courses are free and you can study in your own time so you do it when you're really ready and open to absord and retain the information. And the community of tutors and students you can exchange with is a great way to interact and feel part of something.

3. Self love:

If you have the resources treat yourself to something nice every now and then, a bunch of flowers, a lush face mask (a much more pleasant kind for a change!!), new bedsheets. Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest impact.

For flowers, if you are in Streatham: Luxe Petals

For face treatments: VC Beauty

For bedlinen: Ikea

4. Theme nights:

One of the newly discovered highlights of the previous lockdown (if you can strech your imagination enough to even conceive there could be a positive in that situation) was looking forward to a theme night: even if it's just dinner for one as usual, make sure it's a special one! Taco Tuesday, French Friday, Black&White Sunday: pick whatever you can think of and design a whole night around it; be brave and experiment with new recipes, dress up for the occasion and pick a movie to watch in the true spirit of the night.

You can find inspiring new dishes to try out at www.bbcgoodfood.com

Pick your movies browsing categories on IMBD

5. Support:

Asking for help is NOT a sign of weakness: ackowledging you cannot do everything by yourself is the first and biggest step towards self improvement and a better life.

We are here to support you in every possible way we can, be it with that task you have been procrastinating for lack of time or expertise, or an errand you don't feel comfortable running.

Our goal is making sure your life is easier and safer!
