Top 5 most common assumptions about having a PA (that are totally wrong!)

1. Only Celebs and HNWIs can afford a Personal Assistant:
You would think so right?! Wrong! Having a PA is not necessarily all about posh dinner parties and crazy "latest Harry Potter unpublished origianl manuscript" requests. Having an Assistant can help with simple tasks around the house, or runnig short errands around town when you can't, don't know how to, or just don't want to.
And the good news is: small jobs have small prices.

2. A Personal Assistant will take over your life:
Delegating is by far the most difficult thing to do, but giving away some of the odd tasks doesn't mean losing control over your life. You PA keeps you up to date with the job progress and any further action is suggested and carried out only once you've approved it.
3. A PA cannot help with VERY personal matters:
In case you had any doubts, Personal Assistants are human too and it's empathy, patience and committment that make the best ones...well.. the Best! So no matter what the issue is, be assured your Assistant will deal with it with the utmost touch, confidentiality, and without any personal judgement.
4. It's not safe:
This year has definitely been the most challenging for us all: who hasn't felt the grip of fear, anxiety and uncertainty at least once during and after our own lockdowns?
It is normal to feel apprehensive about having an Assistant access the safety of your home, that's why site visits are organised only when strictly necessary, PPE and social distancing are kept at all times (including all those required to attend, like engineers, service providers and other contracted persons), prioritising remote working and online communications. The systems and softwares used are of the highest standard, and all personal data are encrypted and stored safely.

5. Anyone can do it:
Erm... They say you cannot really understand what one does until you've "walked a mile in their shoes"; and a Personal Assistant's shoes, contrary to popular belief, are more likely to be comfy trainers rather than stiletto heels. It can take a lot of physical and mental strength to juggle several clients and their very specific requests, perhaps visiting many premises in a day, running around all over town carrying big heavy bags, or just shifting focus between tasks in the space of a few minutes, and all under extreme pressure!
Excellent time management, flexibility of mind and a lot of stamina are not only the backbone of a PA but also what keeps one a PA forever!
